City of Portraits
In 2013 Grahame had the idea of painting every person living in his home of St Davids, calling the project 'The City of Portraits'. The project has met many difficulties for Grahame, such as the early death of his fiancée Debbie, as well as the Covid pandemic. Grahame has continued to perservere and has completed over eight hundred portraits, all of the same size; 175 x 125 cm. When completed, the portraits are assembled in grid systems of one meter squared, with the final project presenting a powerful panorama and unique view of a single community.
This unique project has gained widespread attention from news outlets such as the BBC and Daily Telegraph and will be exhibited in the Senedd in Cardiff from 28th February 2024.
